Hi there! I'm Jay, an up and coming filmmaker
with an interest in contemporary media and its power to create positive change.
About Me
I'm a sophomore Film and Television Studies major at the University of Vermont. I am currently working to expand my skills in an array of creative mediums to build a strong foundation for future projects. In addition to studying film, I am minoring in Theatre and Computer Science to learn about live performance and the possibilities of digital mediums.
So far in my time at university, I have worked as a production assistant for a local news station as well as an audio technician with the University of Vermont’s music department. As a freshman, I won the Daniel-McCarter Award for a short film titled "Coming In: A Love Letter to Myself", a project exploring the journeys I and four of my classmates took to find our queer identities.
Beyond film, theatre, and web development, I love playing tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons and Monster of the Week with friends. I keep my hands busy with crocheting, art, and Tetris. At night I can be found either playing with my hamster, Satch, or watching movies with friends on my projector.
